Felt Donuts and Other Goodies

Finally getting back to work on some super fun felt donuts and other play food goodies.

I will be adding some really sweet felt food sets to my Retro Girl Design shop later this month. These sets will be the last of their kind as I am discontinuing all of my play food from my shop to get ready for my shop relaunch this fall.

2017 is gonna be so RETRO

 
Now I know I just posted yesterday about My One Word and I said I wasn’t going to focus on any expectations in 2017, but I do want to make some blog/shop goals and really stick to them this year.  I thought I’d share them here so you can see how often I’ll be posting, what topics I will be covering in the new year, and the direction that my Etsy shop is headed.

Blog Post Schedule

I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself, so I am going to keep it simple and sweet. Starting next week I’ll be posting once a month. For the weeks where I find I have more time I’ll post more, but for now, count on there being a new blog post once a month. I will also be posting whenever I add new items to both shops: Retro Girl Design and Retro Girl Destash.

My One Word

 
I always feel so refreshed when a new year starts. This year is no exception. 2016 was pretty rough for me, so I am really looking forward to wiping the slate clean and starting fresh!

I, along with probably everyone on the planet, have a list of resolutions. But this year I really wanted to go a step further and really focus on one similar theme. So I decided to come up with a word of the year.

You might have already heard of the My One Word challenge. The goal is to get you away from making resolutions and to have you focus on one word throughout the entire year. I really liked this concept, especially since I tend to forget my resolutions as the year goes on.

Brrrrrrreak Time!

 
I’ll be taking a little break to celebrate the holidays with friends and family in the Sunshine State! It will be nice to spend a few days sitting by the pool in shorts and not bundled up in layers of clothes. But, it won’t be long-lived as I’ll be back to crafting and blogging in no time.

One of the things I’ll be working on while I’m on hiatus is getting my new planner(s) set up. Yes, I actually have 3 planners. I am a little obsessed with planning now. I got one for tracking my fitness, one for everyday stuff, and one specifically for blogging and my Etsy shop. I was so scatterbrained in 2016 that I really hope this will help me get my thoughts together. I will try to remember to snap a few pics throughout the process and write a blog post or two.

As for the shop, I have so many ideas floating around my head including new retro items and new categories. I’m thinking about some scarves, blankets, and maybe some wall hangings. We’ll have to see where my creativity takes me. I also left the shop open, but please note that no packages will be shipped until Friday, January 6th!

I’m really hoping this mini trip will help me clear my head and get re-inspired for crafting and blogging. I lost a bit of creative mojo last year.
